We're back, and we brought good weather

Around 11:30 on Friday night, January, Gus and I rolled back into Columbus and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the temperatures weren't the reported subfreezing ones we expected.  It was actually quite temperate, by Ohio standards anyway.  After unloading the car, trying to convince the cats to forgive us for leaving them, and getting caught up on Lost, we crashed hard.

On the way home, I had managed to win a couple tickets in a Twitter contest.  CD101, the best radio station on the planet, was giving away tickets to a small, live performance in their studio by all-girl electro soul-punk band Von Iva, and my quick-typing fingers came through.  To be hoenst, I had not been a huge fan of theirs, but it's hard to pass up free tickets to an intimate live show at my favorite radio station, so January and I decided to check it out.

It was actually really fun; The Big Room performances are small shows that CD101 hosts at their studio for around 20-25 listeners.  They're generally recorded and then played back from time to time on the air, so it was kind of cool to be able to see what one of these performances looks like. The Von Iva crew did a really good job getting into it despite the extremely small audience, and they were really cool about hanging out and talking with us after the performance.  January was able to get a little bit of the show on video, and I was able to record the audio from the show as well; If you like what you see, keep an eye out for them on the "Hell on Heels" tour.
